Tonight on ABC their new series The Rookie airs with an all-new Sunday, January 30, 2022, season 4 episode 13 called, “Fight or Flight,” and we have your The Rookie recap below. On tonight’s The Rookie season 4 episode 12 as per the ABC synopsis, “Officers John Nolan and Lucy Chen must fulfill three quests if they want to get a stolen police helicopter back safely from a teenage thief.

Meanwhile, Officer Nyla Harper and Aaron Thorson must guard a convicted cop killer in the hospital following a prison riot.”

In tonights The Rookie episode begins with Nolan walking into the station and finds out that someone stole a police helicopter, it is a teenager, named Leo, that Nolan met in the elevator who said he was Steve Miller’s son. Grey tries to talk the kid down and it doesn’t work, he passes the walkie talkie to Nolan and that doesn’t work either. Nolan and Chen go out to shadow the helicopter that has four hours of fuel.

Lopez tells Bradford that she has Dez Robinson in a holding cell right now, he was pulled over for a traffic violation and had a diamond bracelet in his car that was taken from a home invasion where the whole family was killed. Bradford joins her for questioning. Dez says he bought the bracelet from a pawn shop. Dez claims to have been at work at the night of the home invasion. He gives them the name of his lawyer, Adrian Mount.

Harper tells Thorsen that she will put up with his reality show as long as it doesn’t affect his job. Thorsen takes Harper to the hospital, she doesn’t feel well. Grey calls to see how she is doing and tells Thorsen that he has an assignment for him, a riot broke out at a men’s correction this morning dozens injured, one airlifted to the hospital, Lengxton Bryant, he needs him to relieve the sherriff’s deputy but warns him to be careful, the inmate killed a cop.

Nolan calls Leo, tries to talk him down while he and Chen are shadowing him. Nolan tells him that he is going to find him a nice place to land. Leo tells him that he is going to give him three tasks, if he succeeds, he will give himself up. Nolan tells him that this is not a video game. Chen tells Nolan to accept Leo’s reality so they can get him down. He sends them to an abandonned house was taken over by people dealing drugs. They go there, arrest one man and find a young boy who looks like he overdosed.

Bryant tries to speak to Thorsten who is on his guard and being careful. Bryant tells him that he is innocent and spent 18 years in prison for a crime that he didn’t commit. Harper walks up, Thorsten tells her that he thinks he is innocent, she tells him to stay out of it and guard him like he is supposed to.

Leo’s mother is called into the station, she tells Grey that Leo has had problems since his father died. He got himself kicked out of school, his mother teaches him at home.

Bradford speaks to Dez’s boss, he tells him that Dez is suspected in a triple murder. He says Dex paid him $500 to clock him in, he didn’t work.

Leo gives the second quest, they head to a residence where there is a huge alligator and also a huge supply of fentanyl in the house.

Thorsten calls in James and Wesley to speak to the inmate, if there is a sliver of a chance that he is innocent, they agree that it should be looked into.

Leo admits that this was all about his mother, her boyfriend Bryan is the one supplying her with the drugs and he is intertwined with all the quests Leo sent Noland and Chen on.

Bradford is in Dez’s place trying to find any evidence that he is responsible for their murders. Bradford brings in a police dog, he finds something, a gun hidden – they’ve got him.

Wesley tells Bryant that he can get him a lawyer pro-bono, he thanks Thorsten for listening to him, it’s been a long time since someone has done that.

Harper tells Thorsten that during the prison riot Bryant stomped a guard who is now paralized from the waist down, there is no reason to get him another trial, he is going to stay in prison for that alone.

The quest where the fentanyl was found, the guy flipped, he gave Brian’s name, Nolan and Chen head to Leo’s house to arrest him. Leo tells Nolan that he is out of gas, he manages to land the helicopter safely. Leo tells Chen and Nolan that the hero’s journey is over. Nolan tells him that he is under arrest for stealing the helicopter.

Nolan gives Leo his number, he tells him to call him if he needs anything. Thorsten is not giving up on Bryant’s case, he thinks he is innocent and there is a cop killer out there going free. Wesley thinks he is going to get his licence back, he wants to do more pro-bono work. The team is about to leave the station for drinks, Grey walks in and says there has been an incident at the Animal Control with Cupcake, the alligator they got from the fentanyl house and he needs all of them.
