Tanya Stal is the wife of Eric Staal, a Canadian professional ice hockey center. He is now a member of the Minnesota Wild of the National Hockey League (NHL).
He grew up playing minor hockey in Thunder Bay, where he played AAA for the Thunder Bay Kings and captained his Bantam club to the 1999–2000 All-Ontario Championship.
As a kid, he idolized forwards Joe Sakic and Wayne Gretzky.

Kenneth Egano has died from injuries sustained in his fight on Manny Pacquiao's 'Blow by Blow' boxing event on Saturday night.
The 22-year-old beat Jason Facularin in an eight-round contest in Cavite, Philippines, but was unable to hear his name read out as the winner.
Egano collapsed in the ring before the result was confirmed by the ring announcer and was taken from the arena.
It was eventually announced that he had indeed won the fight, but by this time he was being rushed to hospital where he later lapsed into coma due to brain haemorrhage.
