Ariana Grande just won her first Grammy for Best Pop Vocal Album. Unfortunately, the singer wasn’t there to accept the trophy because of the headline-making disagreement she got into with the producer.

It was rumored that Ariana Grande was no longer performing or attending the awards ceremony because it was too late for her to pull something together. The 25-year-old caught wind of the comments Grammys executive producer, Ken Ehrlich made and called him a liar via Twitter.

Grande corrected him when she said that she could pull together a performance overnight but it was instead the fact that he was attempting to stifle her creativity.

Ehlrich shot back to Grande’s tweets with a statement denying an inability to work with artists and gave multiple examples of his non-traditional work in the past.

“The fact of the matter is — and I actually wrote a little thing in the middle of the night that I’m not going to do anything about, but, I mean. You can ask Christina Aguilera, who I asked to do ‘It’s a Man’s World’ for James Brown. You can ask Melissa Etheridge, who finished her cancer treatment and I put her out on stage, bald, doing Janis Joplin. You can ask Ricky Martin who overnight became the creator of the Latin music revolution. Ask Mary J. Blige, who was scared s******* to go out there and do ‘No More Drama.’ I basically worked with her to mold it. Ask H.E.R. who’s in this show.”

Ariana did not respond to the latest comments made by Ehrlich but when it was announced that Sweetener won the running for Best Pop Vocal Album — Ari was feeling bittersweet.

The former Nickelodeon star tweeted: “i know i’m not there tonight (trust, i tried and still truly wished it had worked out tbh) and i know i said i try not to put too much weight into these things …. but f*** …….  this is wild and beautiful. thank you so much.”

She also went on to thank those she worked on the music with and people at her label. Do you think Ariana should’ve swallowed her pride and went to the ceremony?
